About Local 2150
Kettering Professional Firefighters, IAFF Local 2150, represent the approximately 40 professional fire fighters of the City of Kettering Fire Department, Kettering, Ohio.
Chartered in 1973, Local 2150 has proudly served the Kettering community for 28 years. Kettering is the largest suburb of the Dayton metropolitan area, covering 28 square miles with a population of approximately 59,000.
The fire department is staffed with 48 career firefighters, firefighter / paramedics, and officers. The professional ranks are supplemented by 110 paid-on-call personnel. KFD responded to 6,645 fire and medic alarms in 2005. Local 2150 members staff 4 engines and 1 ladder truck Monday thru Friday between the hours of 0700 and 1700. The city's 2 Advanced Life Support medic units and 1 Squad (new 24 hour fire apparatus) are staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by professional firefighter/ paramedics.
